You're probably wondering how and why I chose to give my blog such a striking, and hopefully memorable, name. In reality, I chose to name my blog "FCK-ing Thoughts" because I knew it would catch people's eye and make them wonder just how crazy I must be to pick such a unique name. The story behind the name itself is actually very simple. My full and 100% legal name is Fiona Carolyn Knight, meaning that my monogram just so happens to be FCK. This was a complete accident on my parents' part as its resemblance to a not so secret curse word is pretty obvious. However, through things like this blog, I have finally managed to embrace my one of a kind monogram and make it a quirky but clearly authentic part of my personality.
I started my blog to demonstrate my interest in and following of politics, foreign affairs, cultural relations, and international society. My passion is sharing my opinions on controversial political topics, specifically in the realm of public policy, and use this platform as a way to record and share my ideas. I am an expert at vocalizing my unfiltered but respectful opinions as I believe that my voice, just the same as anyone else's, holds power and value. Some people may call my passion for difficult conversations and controversial topics "overkill" or "too harsh," but I say that that it is those with the most passion and strongest drive who truly have the power to change the world.
As shared above, the majority of my writing centers around controversial social and political topics. As the editor-in-chief of my school newspaper, I have the privilege of sharing my writing with a diverse and highly opinionated audience. I feel very strongly about advocating for issues like sexism, social equality for all, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), etc. I let this passion fuel me to make a difference by sharing opinions that I am lucky enough to have support behind and am capable of sharing freely.
